Gornath

Gornath was the capital of Zorono's Empire. Rulership is currently held by a Steward who claims to hold the seat until Zorono returns... he has been gone for nearly a generation, but has achieved a status approaching divinity. The Church of Law in Gornath has cannonized him (ironic since Zorono was an agent of Dartilla) and there are sects devoted to his return.
Gornath still holds the Iron League and Modria and governers appointed by the Steward rule those lands. Gornath also claims Midgron (they call it Eastmarch) and the Red March as well.

The citizens of Gornath are a proud people and view the city as the center of culture in the realm. In reality, it is a city in decline. There are whole blocks that have been abandoned to decay where only the poorest and most desperate dare to go. The loss of Crowyn was a sore blow and placed the city in the position of having to purchase goods of the Shining Empire from their former providence of Westmarch.
